Mohammad Anwar Hajher / Director

It was Anwar Hajher's dream to return to his homeland after twenty five years. He knew that many things had changed in the country and he wanted to capture his first impressions and present it to the world. In collaboration with his team, he succeeded to do so. In search of fact-finding, he went to the country to interview ordinary Afghans. The film covers a vast geographical area, from central Afghanistan to the northern part of the country where Hajher was educated and then to Lugar province, his birth place. He speaks in plain Pashto and Dari with those who are affected by the events of the past quarter of a century and shares the stories of the eyewitnesses with the world.  Hajher is currently an assistant professor of Dari, Pashto and Afghan cultural studies in the United States.

Mithaq Kazimi / Producer, Editor

When Anwar Hajher presented the idea of this documentary to Mithaq Kazimi he instantly agreed to produce it. After months of pre-production and planning he managed to get the team together and shoot the film. After watching the 20+ footage from Afghanistan, he took upon himself to also edit the film. Mithaq Kazimi is a well-known Afghan-American filmmaker and has also worked in many US-based and international projects. He is currently continuing his filmmaking studies and career in the United States.

Ahmad Shah Hassan / Music Director

The talented Afghan singer and the nephew of famous Afghan poet Raziq Fani, Ahmad Shah Hassan was attracted to the content of the film immediately. He is credited with more than 30 years of experience in singing and composition in several languages such as Dari, Pashtu, Urdu and Hindi. He currently resides in California where he continues his music career and  teaches music to the next generation.  Hassan has composed the most original and intriguing pieces of  music for 16 Days in Afghanistan.
