Quenching The Light is a 9-minute video that
features the paintings of 200+ Bahá'ís who have lost their lives
since the Islamic revolution of Iran. The video presentation
also includes video-footage of living descendants of those who had
lost their lives in the past three decades and the faces of few
who were able to escape the country and the persecution. There are
also other Bahá'ís from around the world in the video segment who
are concerned about the persecution of their fellow
co-religionists. The video dramatically
narrates the injustices done to the Bahá'ís of Iran since the
revolution.

represent the views of the
Universal House of Justice or any
other
Bahá'í institutions. The video
is a work of art and not an official statement from the
mentioned institutions The names, pictures and the numbers of
Bahá'í martyrs does not necessary match
on the screen. Not all
actors are associated with the martyrs or their families. The
talent are ordinary Bahá'ís and not hired actors. The
word "genocide" derives from
Hands of the Cause of God

M-W defines genocide as "the
deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or
cultural group." The "three century old"
statement
does not necessary mean a full three centuries (300 years) and is calculated
from
the early persecutions of 1844;
where 1844-1890s was 19th century, 1900s-1990s the 20th and
2000-on the 21th century. The statement "two teenaged girls"
include a
17-year-old and mistakenly
a 23-year-old among
the 10 women, between the ages
of 17 and 57, who were executed in 1983. The video covers only the
reported events from 1979 until 2006. For updated news, please
